A touch of Dutch flair made victory even sweeter as Stick Happens celebrated their first-ever win with an impressive 4-1 triumph over Marjon Lion and Lamb.
The team sheet kept everyone guessing right up until pushback, with a handful of late drop-outs balanced by some unexpected — but very welcome — additions to the squad.
Julia made a dream debut, firing home twice in a standout performance. Her first goal was the pick of the bunch — a stunning tomahawk strike from the top of the circle — before she added another from a well-worked corner routine.
Nick also got on the scoresheet, calmly rounding the goalkeeper before slotting the ball home, while Keith completed the scoring to cap a memorable game for the side.
Despite recently recovering from a head injury, Sophie produced an outstanding display in goal, pulling off several superb one-on-one saves in the first half. Thanks to a rock-solid defensive performance in front of her, she had little to do after the break as Stick Happens controlled the game.
A special mention also goes to Roger for umpiring, as the team celebrated their victory.
