Kingsbridge & Salcombe 2s travelled to Totnes for their fourth fixture of the season, facing a well-drilled and organised DART 2s.
The hosts made a strong start, scoring early to take a 1–0 lead. However, Kingsbridge showed great resilience and determination, quickly finding their rhythm against feisty opposition.
Newcomer Fi marked a fabulous debut for the club, netting her first goal in the 19th minute to level the score. Building on that momentum, Darcey added another in the 27th minute, giving Kingsbridge a well-earned 2–1 lead at half-time.
After the break, Kingsbridge started the second half with confidence, maintaining good energy and structure. Despite their efforts, DART capitalised on a few opportunities to score twice more, eventually securing a 4–2 win.
There were plenty of positives to take from the game, including excellent performances from all three newcomers — Fi, Alice, and Charlotte — who each made a strong impression. The midfield trio of Emma, Poppy, and Julie worked tirelessly, providing energy and drive through the centre of the pitch.
Special mention goes to Sophie, whose fantastic saves once again kept Kingsbridge in the game at crucial moments.
With several standout performances, there were many contenders for Player of the Match, but the honour ultimately went to Charlotte for her outstanding defending — making it two POM awards in two games played!
Despite the final score, Kingsbridge can be proud of a strong performance against a tough and well-organised DART side. The team continues to build confidence and cohesion with each match, showing real promise for the season ahead.
