It’s not often you get a top of the table clash in just round two, but anything can happen in the west Petroc league. A balmy morning started early with Julia, Budge, Amy and Maddie arriving first to the Torbay Leisure Centre. While they were getting lost in the depths of hell, searching for the changing rooms, Debbie, Fi, Sophie and Tess decided to skip the game altogether and head straight to the venue for teas. Eventually, the squad got it together and made their way out to the field.

The first half was an intense battle with some glorious crosses across the face of goal and some brick wall defending from our back. The mids were slogging it through the middle and everyone was giving it their best.
Just before the half time whistle went, Charley tried to trap a ball with her head so off she went.

KS 1s were unlucky to have a goal disallowed. Debbie travelled five and launched the ball into the circle, with Julia making a touch and celebrating the goal. However, the umpire deemed that it had not travelled five and the goal was not allowed.

After ruthless attacking from the Newton side, they found a way through the KS defence and slotted a ball into the goal.
Throughout all of KS played put in 100% and rattled Newton Abbott and were unlucky not to come away with a draw. With her amazing saves throughout the game, Sophie had a landslide man of the match victory.
